Hi all, aren't we blessed with this site, thankyou Nannette and team!
Re this vital subject, I just cannot understand how anyone who's honest and rational could fail to accept this. It's great that there's the free "Amazing Facts" Bible study course on this site. Just print out & read lesson 1 -if that's not enough evidence that the Bible is inspired, well... you just need to pray that God will open your eyes, and go over the lesson again, and again, until this wonderful, so basic truth hits home! Otherwise, you're on very shaky ground!
You may well have a problem matching the Bible with the theory of evolution. I'm going to ask Nannette to start another forum on this issue -suffice it to say here, this theory is still unproven,& it will always be so! It's just so inconsistent, illogical and full of gaps, it's absolutely ludicrous! OK, you may think I'm a creationist crackpot! Before you do, consider this major point. There's so much design in our world, there's no way evolution by chance could occur! Take birds for example. Do you know how many design criteria need to be satisfied to have a bird that can fly as well as they do? From memory, it's over 10! OK here's some: the ultra light skeleton, the feathers for flying and warmth, the metabolism, the lack of teeth and jaws, the digestive system, the reproduction system, the respiratory system, the cardiovascular system, the eyesight, the brain, the behavour patterns, ....OK, the total animal is designed in every feature for flight!!!
Now all these need to be present in the first bird for it to fly well. Archeopteryx as a missing link? How many of these criteria did it meet??
There's just no chance that evolution could do this!!!
And there are millions of similar examples!!
I should add, I've been a Seventh-day Adventist christian all my life. When I left home to move interstate to get a job, I realised I was almost free from family pressure re staying an SDA. But I decided there's nothing to be gained by leaving my faith, and a lot I could lose, I studied into it, and I'm still here, 35 years later! I might say, life hasn't been rosy all the time, but if you get close to God, & put Him first in your life, He'll come close to you.
One's daily walk with God is a skill like playing a sport or a musical instrument. To do well at it, we need to practise it daily, intelligently, and with commitment and purpose.
I may have wandered off the topic some, but if we do not accept the Bible as the inspired message from God,
we are not really christians at all, I believe. I can't understand anyone claiming to be a christian and not believing this. It's like a building with no foundations, or a plant with no roots!

Yes, very definately it is inspired by God. An Nannette I believe it even more profoundly after attending Russells series. There are only just a little over a week left, and I am so excited about these meetings. He explains it more clearly than ever and it is all from God's word. Inspired by God --- Oh boy, Yes!!!!!!
Thank you for adding this to your surveys, I really like surveys. It seems that with the upcoming elections surveys are very popular. I know for one thing that tonights meeting sure opened my eyes on the upcoming elections and events at this time of earths history.
All that I can say, is COME LORD JESUS, COME QUICKLY as the time ahead is fearful, but He takes our trials and turns them into joy, for the overcomer is indeed it is a time of suffering, but Jesus paid it all so why should I worry about the latter rain, and it terrors when the Conqueror comes down the aisles of glory with all the retinue of angels and take his people home.
Oh what a day glorious day that will be.

I get depressed hearing that people call themselves Christian and yet do not believe the Bible is the Word of God ( belief in evolution is, well, maybe why people do...but that's not why I'm writing per se ).
I talk too much, I fear, so all I'm going to say is, with the pain I've gone through, I absolutely refuse to respect God if I meet Him and find the Bible wasn't really His Word. Being told a) the Bible is meant to tell us how to live, and b) finding out that it was a bunch of nonsense and that we are still held accountable for our actions, is an idea I find infuriating... granted, His Word says stuff I don't like to hear sometimes, but I still acknowledge it to be His Word.

It all depends upon how one looks at it. At the church I attend, we study the Bible each Sunday and we are taught that the Bible IS the perfect WORD OF GOD.

I trust the KJV Bible only, because most other versions have omitted verses.
