I would like to resopnd to this question, as my search took me to a book from my dad's library. Any confusion about which day Saturday truely is can nearly be summed up by what took place with Moses wandering in the wilderness. God told Moses and the Israelites that He would provide manna for them to eat, but each day they were to collect only enough for that day alone as it would spoil the very next day. However, on Friday, the Israelites were to collect double the manna to sustain them until Sunday since no manna would fall on Saturday. The manna that fell on Friday would not spoil the very next day, just like the other manna which fell on every other day except Friday. This practice went on for 40 years of manna not falling on Saturday. So any questioning of days being lost is just plain fabricated. The title of the book is "From Sabbath to Sunday" and it goes further into depth than I can, expecially about the Jewish and Hebrew calendars.

>>put the seventh day as a Friday

I'm not acquainted with the Jewish calendar, but according to the Bible, the Sabbath starts from Sunday Friday to Sundown Saturday, which might be why the seventh day starts on Friday.

The Bible says "And the evening and the morning were the first day." So in the Bible, each day starts in the evening...

Genesis 1:31 "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Genesis 2:2-3 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made."

See the lesson above for a detailed explanation. I hope it answers your questions.

God bless,
Nannette

I'm writing this as I've been pondering some things, and would like some help in finding the answer to some questions I have. The scriptures tell us that the sabbath day is the seventh day, but I've run into a problem in that most christian denominations celebrate the sabbath on Sunday, and others on Saturday, as does the Jewish faith. I just found an online site that shows the Jewish calendar, and went to the year 0001 which in the Hebrew calendar came up as the Hebrew Year 3762, and it showed it as having begun as a Saturday, which put the seventh day as a Friday.. and I'm now totally confused. Can anyone direct me to any place where I might find the answers I'm looking for here? I would like to know what day of the week creation began, and what the true sabbath day is. Again, I'm well aware of the fact that the day celebrated as the sabbath varies from denomination to denomination ( or religion to religion, if you choose to call it that), and that the calendar has changed over the years; but I would just like to know how I can know for certain, and where I might find the information I'm seeking.

Thank you all for your assistance.
