I honestly don't know how you deduced that we believe everyone who comes from China or Africa is a cheat? We know that's not true. We live in a country known as a melting pot! We know about bootleg dvds and cds in America, but that has no correlation with this site. We're talking about people who PREY on christians @ christian websites, break their hearts and(attempts to and is sometimes successful) steal their money. Every soul is precious and believe it or not..i'm praying for every scammer..nigerian, russian whoever, I had to forgive that man so i can be free. I know when they truly come into the full knowledge of Christ..they'll expose the enemy for who he truly is and his tactics. God created all of us..but not all of us are appreciative as to who God is in our lives. I've never been out of the country...but the foreign countries came to me. They started in London, England...ended in Malaysia. It wasn't a pleasant experience but I thank God that i'm all the wiser(and kept my money). We won't assume people from those countries are scammers, no more than they'll assume we're all making and distributing bootleg contraband. However...as the saying goes..once bitten twice shy and u must understand the scammers follow a pattern. they don't read your profile, very defensive, they bombard you with compliments, will say ONLY YOU can help them, their communication sounds as if they're on auto pilot, their spelling is atrocious yet they claim to have master's/ doctorate's degrees, someone ALWAYS HAVE DIED in their, they're vague with answers, can speak of the goodness of God better than anyone i know until you tell them NO, on business in Africa-have to go to africa-my family's in africa-, "inheritance" conversations come up, they cut and paste emails to you, and they always have a reason for why you can't get in touch with them...it' always via cell phone. They are professional liars, actors and they are GOOD. They purposely prey on christian sites. The man i communicated with..ended up at this site (with the same exact story he told me) and i alerted nannette/larry--he wasn't from africa, or china..he was "from" London. They rarely divert from their program. They're adamant about using yahoo messenger (they ask for your yahoo id-dead giveaway-who said I had a yahoo account?) He was then kicked off the site. The pics he provided me weren't even his...they were some innocent person's. When you expose them they drop out of site and go to other sites. and I found those same pics he used at romancescam.com--with ANOTHER story about him from another woman. They get around. It's my prayer that you understand we're not saying these people are guilty before proven innocent. We're just being careful because scammers from certain countries are known for infiltrating (and I mean that word literally) christian websites. I'm saying this as a black woman--i don't care what color you are...SCAMMING IS WRONG. I don't want to be scammed by black, white, chinese, samoan,croatian, lebanese, african, man, woman, or child (you get the pic)--I DONT' WANT TO BE SCAMMED PERIOD!! LOL

I did not suggest the action was not correct. I started the response by saying "you may be right". My only comment was the inference that because they came from Guangzhou/West Africa that was a reason for assuming he was a scammer.
For those of you who have never left the USA (NOT INTENDED AS A 'BARB')..please try to see the world in a broader context. Rightly or wrongly we live in a world where there is mass migration and the mixture of races in Asia rivals anything the USA has ever seen. Of course there are scammers here; there are an incredible number of migrants seeking a better life, but not everyone who comes from China or Africa is a cheat. I say this as a white caucasian. Interestingly in a survey conducted by the music/dvd industry recently it was found there are more pirated copies originating in the USA than in Asia, and this part of the world is known for piracy.
Every soul is precious and while of course we should beware (and not condone anything wrong), we should also recognise that He died for all (if they would only receive it).

I'd rather be a part of a site that is zealous in preventing scams than one who could care less. It's not only the fact that the person included personal contact info...HE spammed FIFTY people at one time--that's a VERY RED FLAG--and is indicative of a scammer. Having had personal experience w/these people ON SEVERAL occasions i applaud Nannette/larry for their earnest efforts. Can it lead to stereotyping..sure it can...and if there is error, i know that Nannette/larry would be quick to apologize and ask forgiveness. However--this is about the protection of ALL members. And as we speak there's a new member from Ghangzhou(sp) I personally will watch that member too. It may be the same person. may not be. I have personally sent info to Nanette/Larry about contradictory membership accounts (and after verifying my words, they were quick to act--thank you Nannette/Larry). I think it's appalling that these scammers have absolutely no respect for Christianity, and are so eloquent in their words...that if you're not prayerful--YOU WILL BE FOOLED. We must test the spirit and see if it is of God. So while i'm interested in people..i'm going to ask Holy Ghost to reveal what it is I need to know--which is what I had done prior and i was able to identify these men as scammers. ad i not done that, I too would've been gullible, naive enough to send these scammers money, and receivedfake checks, money orders etc. It's hard to give an opinion on something when you've haven't had a personal encounter.
Also..for those christians who lives in those countries where scamming is prevalent, I'm sure they understand our positions and suspicions and will find it in their heart to forgive us. We're told to be 'wise as serpents and gentle as doves' and I don't see why that shouldn't be applied at this site as well.

You may be right with this , but to assume that just because he's from Guangzhou/West Africa is making him a stereotype. Have you ever been to Guangzhou? It is where the Canton Trade Fair (the world's largest ) is held twice a year and is full of all different nationalities. At least he was honest about where he is (with an authentic tel. number) and where he originated from.
I see these guys every week at my church in Hong Kong - some are frauds, but some are really genuine. I realise he broke site rules (contact number), I'd be more concerned about his desire for marriage than assuming location made him a spammer.
