Hi Nan... here's our story... Scott & I got married... pretty quick - not exactly how i thought it to be, but God's ways & timing are different from ours. It certainly is less of a drama than what i've always envisioned it to be.
Scott & I met on this site around first week of august (he dated it aug1st) of last year. Tuesday's story I first became a member of this site sometime 2003, when I was still in the Philippines. A friend thought that there are too many christian single ladies who are getting older alone & he didn't like it ;) , so he gave us all the link to the christian singles dating site in one of his emails. Anyway, out of curiosity more than anything, I tried and hence became a member. I was more in the chatroom for the friendship than anything else. When I moved to CA, I didn't have internet from 2004 until late 2005, when I signed up anew for the site, among other christian dating sites. But it was at csd where i found real friends.
Scott's story
He just moved out from his parents home june of 2006. He had been feeling pretty low because he felt so alone & friendless. A friend from his church told him to try CSD, so he did. He said he had been looking at my profile & pix since june of last year, but didn't have the nerve to contact me. Finally he did write me a lengthy letter telling me about himself, that he has a sister who works at a vet office, etc. etc. and that he wants to be friends with me. Even to this day, I tell him that my first impulse then was to send him my standard reply, which was "thank you for your interest but my interests lie elsewhere." At that time, not only was I trying to focus on getting licensed as a vet more than anything, that i was on this site for the christian support & friendship, but i was also going thru my "paradigm of friendship" with several guys on this site.

But then, I figure that I better be nice to him at least, because he is a minister ;). So I sent him a cheer telling him that i appreciate his letter but i couldn't respond because i was a free member. Anyway, to make it short, he purchased a membership for me just so we can exchange emails....then we started talking on the phone for hours every day. Back in october of last year, he wanted so much to go see me in CA but both our schedules & finances didn't allow us to do so.
I told him that we can pray that i pass the exam that i took in august so that i can attend the vet's conference in VA (where he lives) in november. Well, it didn't turn out as well as i liked - i didn't pass the exam and i was devastated. He, among other friends from this site, was there to comfort me all the time.
But now we both see that it's all part of God's plan. God has made it so uncomfortable for me to stay at the job in CA and so I considered anything anywhere. I got an internship at the equine center in Leesburg, VA - about 2 hrs away from where Scott lives. So by december of last year, I already moved to VA.
By then we both knew that we wanted to marry each other. And the Lord has quickened us to move in His timing (LOL yeah, we originally wanted to wait for 2 years before getting married - but God knows us & our needs better than we do).
He proposed february and we got married June 2nd in harrisonburg VA, at his church. My parents weren't able to come but we're planning on having another wedding in the Philippines next year, so that my family will all be there.
Indeed God has amazing ways of moving in people's lives. He did bring us together thru your site. Thank you for being God's wonderful instrument. May the Lord bless you & the works of your hands abundantly.
