We are considered one of the safest dating sites on the internet due to our Safety Check and Scam Tracking System.
View the details of how we Protect Our Members! as well as view our Scammer Quick Preview list of scammers. As you read the scammer stories, you will learn how to protect yourself as well as learn how our site protects you.
Email Validation:
We allow members to optionally validate their email address by sending themselves a confirmation key,
returning to the website and inputting that key.
A valid email address not only ensures the member will receive mail notices when you write to them,
but also helps confirm there is a real person behind this profile.
Driver's License Validation:
Members may optionally send us a copy of their Driver's License, with street address, license #, and signature blocked out,
to confirm that the information provided in the profile matches. This helps to confirm that you
are communicating with a real person.* License copies are destroyed immediately after confirmation.
Safety Check IP Country:
Within each member's profile, we display the country of the last IP address used to access
our web site.
This is 95% accurate. Our IP address database is updated monthly.
Why is this important? If a member claims to be from the U.S., but is actually entering via a country known for scamming, then be careful.
Missionaries: Many of our members are missionaries. If in doubt, request the U.S. phone number of their U.S. home phone, church pastor and/or employer for a reference. Sweetheart scammers claim to be from U.S., but traveling abroad on business. Never cash a money order for someone abroad or give bank account info. Report anyone suspicious.
If you are a missionary or travel outside the U.S. often, simply indicate this within the comments of your profile. Our members do understand.
Country Blocking: We also block numerous countries where scamming is increasingly prevalent.
*We do realize that people can fake a driver's license and/or use a stolen identity. In this imperfect world, nothing is failsafe. Please use common sense and prayer. Follow up by asking for the name and phone of their pastor, church, parents, siblings, and calling them for details. If they are as wonderful as you hope they are, they will be happy to set your mind at ease.
